How to use the WhatsApp link generator

The link generator builds click-to-chat links and QR codes from your phone number. The tool handles the fiddly parts; this guide covers the choices that are still yours.

Entering the number

Pick your country, then type the number the way you are used to writing it. Spaces, dashes, parentheses: all fine, all cleaned automatically. A leading zero, as in UK numbers written locally, is dropped correctly. If you prefer, type the full international number starting with + and the country selector is ignored entirely.

The live preview under the form is the truth: when it reads https://wa.me/919876543210, that exact number is what every tap will open. Errors appear as you type, with the reason, not just a red border.

Writing the pre-filled message

Optional, and usually worth it. The message appears in the sender’s chat box when the link opens; they still press send themselves. Two habits make messages earn their place:

1. Name the source: “Hi, I found you on Instagram” tells you where chats come from.
2. Prompt the detail you need: “Hi, I would like to book. Preferred date:” saves a round trip.

Copy, share, and the QR downloads

Copy link is the everyday action. Share appears on devices with a native share sheet. The QR code renders live once the number is valid, and downloads in two formats with a clean division of labor: PNG (512 pixels) for screens, slides, and social posts; SVG for anything printed, because it scales to poster size without blurring. Test before you publish
